As Panasonic's Strategic Technology Liaison, Michael is responsible for technology co-development of professional video products between Panasonic and U.S.-based companies. In this role, he works closely with the production and post-production industry to integrate Panasonic file-based formats including P2 and AVCCAM, and more recently, 3D production and acquisition technologies. Involved in production camera development since 1991, Michael began his career as a camera engineer, progressing to service management, and successively director of engineering. Throughout his career, he has aided in the development and introduction of a wide range of production cameras, from the Aaton XTRprod S16 film camera to Panasonic's solid-state P2 HD VariCam AJ-HPX3700. A member of the ATSC, HPA, IEEE and SMPTE, Michael has authored, presented and published numerous papers on camera technologies and video compression. He holds a bachelor of science in physics from the University of Massachusetts and a master of science in electrical engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology.
