Toughbook 20 Named 2016 CRN Tech Innovator Award Finalist

We are delighted to share that Panasonic’s innovative Toughbook 20 detachable laptop has been selected as a 2016 CRN Tech Innovator Awards finalist in the PC – Laptops/Convertibles category.

Each year, the CRN Tech Innovator Awards recognize the companies and products that have used innovation to advance technology, increase productivity, and reduce cost and complexity in ways that provide value to the channel. This year the Test Center saw entries from more than 200 companies representing mega-trends taking place in the industry right now — cloud, social, big data and mobility. After carefully scrutinizing products in 18 categories and evaluating each based on the above criteria, the CRN Test Center selected the Toughbook 20 as a laptop/convertibles category finalist.

“As a reseller, we have been able to explore new sales opportunities due to the Toughbook 20’s unique form factor – a single rugged device that delivers both a fully functioning laptop and tablet,” said Kathy Pakkebier, President, PCS Mobile. “Before, convertible fully-rugged tablets were often too heavy for many mobile workers to carry for hours on end. The Toughbook 20 benefits mobile workers in both government and field service who are looking for a light-weight convertible and detachable solution. Combined with the Panasonic Toughbook reputation, we expect to continue to sell a large number of these units.”

The Toughbook 20 is the world’s first fully rugged, lightweight laptop that easily detaches to become a 10.1″ tablet. The detachable laptop features a durable MIL-STD-810G and IP65 design along with a magnesium alloy chassis, so it can withstand the drops and spills that occur in today’s increasingly mobile workplace. At only 3.9 pounds, this 2-in-1 machine combines the best features of a laptop and tablet. It is ideal for field services, utilities, oil and gas, transportation and logistics, healthcare, insurance, public safety and defense customers that need a highly mobile computing solution to easily capture and share information.
