Magnus McDermid to Head Panasonic’s Business Mobility Group across North America
20 year company veteran selected to drive continued growth of renowned Toughbook and Toughpad brands
NEWARK, NJ (May 4, 2016) – Panasonic System Communications Company of North America (PSCNA), an industry leader in exceptionally reliable and innovative mobile computers, today announced that Panasonic veteran, Magnus McDermid, has been appointed Senior Vice President of the company’s growing Business Mobility Group, of North America. In this role, McDermid will be responsible for sales, marketing and support of the U.S. business mobility operations.
Currently the Vice President of Enterprise Solutions at Panasonic Canada, McDermid will expand on the success in his Canadian role, which includes stewardship of the Toughbook and Toughpad brands, taking on U.S. responsibilities. Although the U.S. and Canadian business mobility groups will continue to operate independently, the move creates greater cross-border synergies and efficiencies for the Toughbook and Toughbook product lines – the global leaders in rugged notebook and tablet sales*.

Magnus is currently the Vice President of Enterprise Solutions for Panasonic Canada, where he is responsible for sales, marketing and support for the entire Enterprise Solutions Division, which includes mobile computers, business systems and Pro AV solutions. Prior leadership roles during his 20 years at Panasonic Canada include General Manager of Computer and AV Solutions, Director of Computer and Communications Systems and National Sales Manager of Computer and Communications Systems.
