Agency Improves Business Communications with Panasonic Telecommunications Server

According to the recent Small Business Index, both SMB and enterprise-sized businesses have experienced recent growth and we expect to see continued expansion in the market. Soon, many businesses may find themselves growing out of their current communications systems. This means now, maybe more than ever, a scalable and flexible business phone system that supports this growth is paramount to their success.

This was certainly the case with a busy collections agency located in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The collection agency required an upgrade of its previous business phone system to better support their rapidly growing company. The old system was a hybrid consisting of both analog and digital functions which added unnecessary costs and generally required too much effort to manage and maintain. Managing approximately 12,000 inbound and outbound calls in a single day, and expecting to triple in size by 2018, the agency needed to update their existing telecommunications infrastructure to support their current business needs while providing expandability for the future.

They chose and installed the Panasonic KX-NS1000 IP Business Telecommunications server because of its grow-as-you-go flexibility. With a managed switching platform capable of supporting multiple VLANs, WLANs, Power over Ethernet (PoE) and fiber optic backbone network, the KX-NS1000 met all of the agency’s telecommunications needs.

The KX-NS1000 allowed the company to leverage its existing legacy systems through stacking with a gateway, while maximizing the advantages of an IP system and eliminating the need for expensive paging servers and IP paging solutions. The new system now consists of approximately 60+ IP trunks supporting 80 digital telephones and another 80 IP telephones that includes talk-back, all call and zone paging throughout the office. By combining disparate systems onto one network, Panasonic’s Business Telecommunications Server improved daily communications processes and provided additional features and functionality, allowing the office to expand and easily support up to 14,000 inbound and outbound calls a day.

This case study serves as a model for other call centers or small to medium-sized businesses that are looking for reliable business communications technology to support their current and future business needs.

So, if you are searching for the perfect telecommunications system for your business needs, key features to consider include:

  • Capacity for both legacy and IP ports to ensure support for existing infrastructure while taking advantage of the benefits of IP
  • Expansion capabilities to ensure the system is future proof with the capacity to help your business grow
  • Multi-site networking capabilities that can connect IP networks from any location, allowing for shared resources, lower costs and efficiencies
  • Built-in web server allowing administrators the ability to manage, run and troubleshoot issues remotely
