LIVE @ NAB brings innovation and excitement to 2014 NAB Show floor

The 2014 NAB Show®, an annual trade show produced by the National Association of Broadcasters, is right around the corner and we’re excited to announce that Panasonic will be participating live from the show floor this year.

As the world’s largest electronic media show covering the development, management and delivery of content across all mediums, the NAB Show brings together nearly 100,000 professionals in film and digital media and entertainment and 1,500+ exhibitors to showcase solutions that transcend traditional broadcasting and embrace content delivery in new and innovative ways.

PanasonicNAB2Reflecting the innovative character of the NAB Show, Panasonic will host a global, interactive webcast comprised of five 30-minute segments and titled ‘LIVE @ NAB’ on Monday, April 7. The sessions will feature a ‘can’t miss’ lineup of industry experts including Pulp Fiction producer Lawrence Bender, Sports Video Group editor-in-chief Ken Kerschbaumer; Adobe’s Dave Helmly; celebrity photographer and director Michael Grecco; and representatives from the Clemson Tigers and Arkansas Razorbacks.

‘LIVE @ NAB’ hosts Cali Lewis (@CaliLewis) and John P. (@JohnPoz), co-hosts of GeekBeat.TV, will be on hand to meet with Google+ Hangout guests and interact with online participants. Produced straight from the floor of the NAB, session topics include:

‘Live @ NAB’ Kickoff
We’ll chat with Rance Poehler, President of Panasonic System Communications Company of North America, about new products making their debut, and discuss developing trends in creation to consumption of content across all mediums.

4K in Filmmaking
From the introduction of the Panasonic VariCam® 35 4K camera/recorder to 4K monitors and tablets, 4K is everywhere. This roundtable discussion covers the why, what, where, when, and how of 4K content creation and consumption in Hollywood and beyond.

Get in the Game
As broadcast technology evolves, sports spectators are brought closer and closer to the action—whether they’re in a stadium seat or watching from their living room couch. We’ll discuss new products such as the VariCam HS, with high-speed capture up to 240fps, coming to market for the sports industry, and chat about what fans can look forward to in the future.

Innovation in IP Networking
From large venue entertainment to seminar and lecture halls, Panasonic powers IP-based experiences at universities, houses of worship, and businesses across the globe. We’ll discuss cutting-edge, tech-laden learning environments, and other real world installations that are ever evolving in the fast-growing IP market.

Independent Filmmaking in 4K
Advances in video technology have made recording and broadcasting more and more accessible. In this session, we’ll take a look at how independent content creators are using the newest equipment to produce high-quality footage—and then easily distributing the final product through a variety of digital channels.

Industry members listening at home can view and interact with the streaming broadcasts through Panasonic’s microsite, Participants can also Tweet their questions to session speakers by using the hashtag #PanasonicNAB and in the process, become eligible to win a Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH4 grand prize.
