Video Accord Makes AG-HPX250 Its Go-To Camera For High-Visibility Corporate Projects
Video Accord , a Baltimore, MD-based production company owned and operated by award-winning videographer and editor Tim Reca, specializes in corporate video services including broadcast, training, promotions, demonstrations, recruitment and seminars. Tim recently invested in the Panasonic AG-HPX250 P2 HD camcorder as his primary camera on high-profile assignments for longtime clients such as Baltimore Gas & Electric and construction firm Whiting-Turner.
Most recently, Tim documented BG&E’s efforts to preserve the wild lupine, an endangered and rare flower, through its forestry division (see video here). He often profiles storm prevention and restoration activities for the utility giant. He has shot training seminars with the HPX250 for Whiting-Turner, and has also utilized the P2 HD handheld on his regular freelance assignments for the Harford Cable Network, Harford County, MD’s PEG (public access, education and government) channel.
Sold on the HPX250 through the recommendations of a fellow shooter, he also retains two AG-HMC150 AVCCAM HD handhelds in his equipment arsenal, which he predominantly uses for his extensive wedding/event work.
“I counted on my AG-HVX200 for several years, but the HPX250 is much more full-featured,” Tim said. “I have more formats to choose from and do so, usually shooting in HD for the cable network but often opting for DVCPRO50 when the video will be distributed on the web.”
“The ergonomics are improved; the HPX250 is a better balanced camera,” he added. “I really like the 22x wide zoom lens with the three independent adjustable rings for Zoom/Focus/Iris. Accessing the lens and record buttons is much easier. Overall, the HPX250 is a more robust camera.” Tim edits projects in Final Cut Pro.
