“Shoot it. Share it” Voting Now Open to the Public
They’ve shot it, now you can share it. Beginning today and running through Wednesday, April 4, online voting to choose the top prize winners of Panasonic’s “Shoot It. Share It” video contest is open to the public at www.ShootItShareIt.com.
For the past month, aspiring filmmakers have uploaded their short projects shot with the Panasonic AG-AF100 Large Imager HD Cinema Camcorder. Users were allowed to submit up to five videos (five minutes or less) in any of six categories.
These filmmakers are competing for the grand prize of a Panasonic 42” TH-42BT300U Pro Plasma reference Monitor and Vocas Micro Four Thirds to Prime Lens adapter, prizes valued at more than $5,000. Individual category winners will be awarded a Vocas Matte Box and Rail system.
Submissions this year produced stiff competition but, a panel of judges composed of Panasonic’s Pro Video personnel selected the top three semi-finalists in each category on the basis of filmmaking /shot design, creativity/inventiveness and the ability to convey a unique vision. The top three category winners were chosen from the following categories short film, documentary, commercial, music video, nature and wildlife and student film.
The semi-finalist projects are now posted online and the public can flex their film critic skills by logging in and voting at ShootItShareIt.com for the first-place winner in each category until April 4.
From those category winners, a panel of judges will select the short worthy of the coveted grand prize. All the winners will be announced during the NAB 2012 show in Las Vegas, NV (April 16-19), as well as on the contest web site.
